Cervical cancer screening by simple visual inspection after acetic acid

Background: Naked-eye visual inspection of the cervix with acetic-acid wash (VIA), or cervicoscopy, is an alternative to cytology in screening for cervical cancer poorly resourced locations. Aims: This study were determine whether visualization after acetic acid can identify early cancer, and detect lesions symptom free women. Results: In present mean age 35-39 yrs. Low socio-economic status, marriage, at first child birth, high parity was associated cancer. Patients who had erosions, leukoplakia unhealthy should take as high-risk group subject procedures. 26.8% patients healthy positive acetowhite areas proven by biopsy. Most common which presented white discharge per vagina, menorrhagia. These symptoms correlated 90% cases. All biopsy showed areas. Conclusion: be subjected colposcopy before treating them directly avoid false cases, since gold standard.
